  I've purchased from Lucas three times now, and the employees there are helpful and seem to know their stuff. There aren't many places where even the loaders have an interest in the product being sold, and this is one of them. Their prices are a bit higher than Lowe's, but lower than 84 Lumber. However, you get what you pay for, and they just supplied me with some BEAUTIFUL live edge purple-hearted 1.5" x 10.5" x 12' Texas Aromatic at $13 a board foot. Still a better deal than Houston Hardwoods too and no trip into the city. The only downside is as their name says, they only deal in Cedar. I wish they would carry a few more species, but I guess they do well enough keeping it simple. Overall, a great place to deal with.
